Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper is a wonderful story about Gwen adopting a three-week old eyeless kitten. Gwen (and everyone else) fear this little kitten's life will be about limitations, boundaries and restrictions. But Homer is a fearless soul, whether he is jumping off couches and table tops or climbing curtains and shelves. He has the guts to chase off an intruder who breaks into Gwen's apartment one night and the backbone to survive being trapped alone for several days in her apartment near the World Trade Center after 9/11. I shed a few tears but mainly laughed reading this extraordinary story of Homer. I highly recommend it!
