Trained as a pharmacist at the renowned Uppsala University in Sweden, Maryam became a licensed California pharmacist in 2006. While performing pharmacy internships in the Bay Area, she developed a particular interest in compounding medications for animals when she saw the integral role pets play in many people's lives.
